In investigator-initiated multicentre trials such as TheraP and UpFrontPSMA, imaging was central to the study design – it was used directly for patient selection, confirmation of eligibility and treatment decisions, not simply as an exploratory endpoint. WIDEN gave us a single, reliable workflow for transferring, quality-checking and reviewing PSMA and FDG PET/CT studies from all participating sites. It also made blinded independent reads, communication between the imaging core laboratory and investigators, and documentation of consensus straightforward and well-organised. Sites and reviewers found the system intuitive and easy to use, yet it remained flexible enough to adapt to the specific requirements of molecular imaging and theranostic trials. In practice, WIDEN allowed us to run the imaging component of these trials consistently and efficiently across sites, and to complete image review and reporting seamlessly within the trial workflow. It was a valuable part of delivering these studies to a high standard.

Since 2010, the Polish Lymphoma Research Group is an active user of Dixit and their WIDEN platform, that enabled us to start and carry out Observational Study on the role of very early interim PET results during ABVD chemotherapy of patients with Hodgkin Lymphoma. The study requires reviewing of all interim PET studies by the independent Panel of Reviewers. Such a panel, consisting of the Polish and Italian nuclear medicine specialists was established. All reviewers have the access to anonymized PET scans loaded to the WIDEN platform by local PET centers in Poland. The process requires some basic computer skills and is feasible for all even inexperienced users. It allows comparing the concordance between reviewers and identifying cases requiring further discussion. Without WIDEN our study would never gain any scientific value.

During IELSG37, WIDEN offered far more than just a repository for PET/CT images. It established a structured setting for reviewer training, blinded independent assessment, comparison of interpretations, and consensus among an international expert panel. This allowed us to use uniform PET interpretation criteria across participating centres and to evaluate the reproducibility of the central review throughout the study. Equally important, WIDEN maintained a well‐curated imaging dataset that could later be employed for metabolic tumour volume measurements, radiomic analyses, and clinically relevant research questions beyond the trial’s primary endpoint. For an academic multicentre group, this continuity between prospective trial operations and the later scientific exploitation of imaging data provides a major advantage.

The International Extranodal Lymphoma Study Group is using Dixit and the WIDEN platform in several ongoing international clinical trials, in which the timely central review of PET scans is a most critical step. The WIDEN software fully meets our needs and completely fulfills our expectations. WIDEN has become an essential support to our research programs.

WIDEN is a great platform to use for imaging in clinical trials. It works across time zones for international trials. As a reporter, it’s easy to access, integrates with my preferred local software and I can easily enter my results. It contacts the Clinician responsible for the patient directly and offers a feature for urgent medical communication. Any issues and I have found the WIDEN team to be very receptive.
